Falcons Upset Cowboys, Three Games Behind Eagles

NFL Dallas

The Dallas Cowboys came into Sunday’s game with the Atlanta Falcons two games behind the Philadelphia Eagles. With both games against the Eagles still on the schedule, Dallas was thought to have control of their own destiny. Or so they thought.

The Falcons were a sleeping giant and they woke up in a big way. It was only a matter of time when you have weapons like Atlanta did. Dallas got things started in the 1st quarter with this Dak Prescott 11-yard touchdown run.

Then the Falcons proceeded to score 27 unanswered points. The Cowboys had no answer for Adrian Clayborn. Clayborn came into the game with 2 sacks on the season, adding six more that day.

Head Coach Jason Garrett, “We just didn’t protect well enough. They put too much pressure on Dak and we weren’t as efficient as we needed to be really throughout throwing the football.”

Dak Prescott, “Maybe I could have gotten the ball out faster sometimes or receivers come open. I mean it was a team deal tonight. It was a team loss. We’re all going take credit in it and it sucked, but we’ll get better from it and use it to motivate us.”

The Cowboys fall to 5-4 and will host the 8-1 Eagles next week on Sunday Night Football.
