Cowboys Banking on Youth

NFL Dallas

The Cowboys are just hours away from their last pre-season game. They’re hoping to get their first win of the pre-season against state rival Houston Texans. It comes the day after the annual Cowboy Kickoff Luncheon in Arlington.

It is a time to reflect on who will make the final team roster.

Head Coach Jason Garrett, “But understand this. Once we decide who these 63 guys are, line one is going to be fight. We’re going to have an identity. We’re going to attack, we’re going to compete, we’re going to be physical, we’re going to execute, we’re going to finish, we’re going to be relentless, and all those things we talked about.”

Team Owner/CEO Jerry Jones, “This year this is the youngest team that we’ve ever had since I’ve been a part of the Dallas Cowboys. This team is young but boy does this team have energy.”

The young players will have one final time to make a good impression on the coaching staff. The Cowboys have 93 players on the roster. They will have to cut that number to 53 by Saturday at 3:00 p.m.

Dallas will start the regular season against the Carolina Panthers on September 9th. Their first home game will be against the New York Giants on September 16th.
