US Census Job Fair begins Oct. 26


MCALLEN, Texas – The U.S. Census Job Fair is set for Saturday, Oct. 26 at the McAllen Public Library between 9 A.M. to 1 P.M. Census recruiters are looking to fill thousands of positions in the region. Interested applicants must be U.S. Citizens, 18 years of age or older, have basic computer knowledge, be fluent in English and have reliable transportation.

Some positions are available immediately, however the majority will begin in March of next year.

Dalilah Garcia, Media Specialist – RGV Census Bureau, “In the four county area of Cameron, Hidalgo, Willacy and Starr, we will be hiring 8,000 people to help us count everybody once, only once, and in the right place.”

This is the second of three U.S. Census Job fairs to be held in the Rio Grande Valley. If you can’t make it on Oct. 26, the next and final job fair takes place in mid-November.
