Some Valley residents say CBD products are effective

MCALLEN, Texas — When Texas House Bill 3703 takes effect, CBD oils containing small amounts of THC will be used to treat a variety of medical conditions. Stores like CBD McAllen, which sell CBD products, contain zero THC are already cashing in on what some say could be a $20 billion industry by 2024.

While little research into the effects of CBD products exist some winter Texans like Steve Loomis say the products work. Loomis uses the CBD oils to treat arthritis, back pain and muscle cramps. “Five days later fingers never cramped since backs been working fine unless I quit taking it for some time or some reason I forget then I know it right off the bat.”

Loomis says he was prescribed pain medications by a physician but was told the meds could damage his liver.

CBD products claim to treat a variety of medical conditions including pain, arthritis, insomnia, diabetes, autism, and anxiety.

Ace King Sansano, CBD user, “It’s just that I felt so relaxed you know not a lot of stress not too much on my mind very calm and it really helped.”

Sansano says he uses the products to treat Alopecia caused by stress.

CBD McAllen General Manager Flavio Padron says the products contain zero THC and are safe. “No risk of having any psychotic effects or any secondary effects. Our products are not habit forming.”

Padron says he has seen an increase in customers like Loomis who come in to also purchase products for their pets. “I can’t believe how calm she is. How much better she can jump up on things, steps and stairs. In the morning when I take mine, she gets hers. She comes over and almost begs for it.”

CBD McAllen which just opened its first store in January has just opened a third location in Harlingen.
