EDINBURG, Texas — Region One in partnership with UTRGV is hosting a first of its kind Pathfinder Academy Program. The three day workshop brings together teachers from middle schools, high school teachers and counselors on how to advise Pathway students into health science careers.
Dr. Eliza Alvarado, Project Path Program Coordinator, “When a student comes and is wondering, ‘how do I get into this program?’, they have the correct information and they are able to let the student know not a year before they graduate, but in middle school. So they can prepare and be adequately prepared to be a candidate.”
Organizers say over the past several years jobs in health sciences have blossomed along the border.
