Over two million dollars of cocaine and heroin found hidden in busses

HIDALGO COUNTY, Texas – Customs and Border Protection officials say it’s not uncommon to find small amounts of drugs aboard commercial busses, but customs inspectors say the latest two busts have been surprising.

More than two million dollars’ worth of cocaine and heroin has been found hidden in two busses coming from Mexico.

Both busts took place at the international bridges in Hidalgo County.

Inside one bus 36 packages of cocaine, weighing roughly 86 pounds were found.

In the other bus 25 packages of heroin weighing 40 pounds, and 8 packages of cocaine weighing 10 pounds were found.

Homeland Security Agents will continue this investigation.
