Non-profit providing shoes to children in need

News

MCALLEN, Texas – A non- profit organization is asking for your help in providing new shoes to the most vulnerable children in the Rio Grande Valley. According to the Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls, there is a great need in the Valley for kids who can’t afford a new pair of shoes.

Since 1989, Buckner has donated over 3 million shoes and for the very first time they are bringing the drive to the Rio Grande Valley.

Sergio Guzman, pediatric dentist, “The shoes actually help prevent a lot of diseases and parasites. For kids that don’t have shoes it is very important for us to provide not only shoes, but new shoes. Letting these kids know that somebody does care about them and that they are loved.”

Monica Skrzypinski, Buckner RGV Gift officer, “We are asking the community to partner with Buckner and to help the children in the Rio Grande Valley.”

The shoe drive will run through the month of October. If you would like to help you call 956-585-4847.
