Jury Deliberating Punishment for Marco Antonio Gonzalez_17547446-159532

A surprising result in a Cameron County Courtroom.

That as the defendant receives 3 years in prison for 10 counts of aggravated assault.

9 of those against police officers.

The jury handed Marco Antonio Gonzales 5 years for each of those counts, for a total of 50 years.

But the sentences run concurrently, so that means only five years.

Since Gonzales had already served 2 years in jail, he will only serve 3 more.

In court jurors heard how Gonzales had fired his weapon against police officers during a standoff with police.

They found him guilty of the aggravated assaults. But it took them only a few hours to come back with the punishment that resulted in 5 years with 2 years served time.
