BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Progress continues at the Brownsville – South Padre Island International Airport.
Right now, on-going construction towards the creation of a new terminal by late 2020. As reported, the current terminal will be demolished and replaced by a new facility. Once complete, the project will be in compliance with federal standards.
Bryant Walker, Airport Director, “We’re a few months into it now. As you can see we’re coming along really well with the steel. By the end of the month we should be complete with all of the steel.”
The Brownsville airport plans to operate without interruption during the construction of the new terminal. The project cost is estimated at around $44 million.
