National Guard assisting county with flooding

RAYMONDVILLE, Texas — Another area of the Valley devastated by flooding is Raymondville. Much so that the National Guard continues to help the people there.

Currently, emergency units are providing transportation to heavily flooded areas. A resident, who is a Meals on Wheels delivery worker, is the first time in 3 days that she’s been able to deliver to those that depend on the service.

Martha Longoria, “That’s wonderful to hear. We can sure use the help. Yesterday I attempted one delivery and I got stuck, and I mean stuck.” The National Guard is stationed at the Willacy County Emergency Services building. Coordinators say they will try their best to serve the community and will remain on duty as needed.
