Narcotics seized by DPS following traffic stop

EDINBURG, Texas – A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper stopped the driver of a black Chevrolet Cruze on Depot Road north of Chapin Street for a traffic violation.

During the stop, the trooper discovered four backpack style bags located throughout the vehicle which contained 72 packages of THC, multiple sheets of THC wax, two glass jars of mushrooms, 65 individual bags of cocaine, 60 tabs of LSD-Acid, one bag containing about 28g of Xanax bars, six plastic bags including seven jars of marijuana.

The driver, Maria Cristina Gonzalez, 27, a resident of Edinburg was arrested on four counts of felony manufacture or delivery of substance and one count of felony delivery of Marijuana.

Gonzalez was transported and booked into the Hidalgo County Jail.
