Murder trial for accused strangler begins

EDINBURG, Texas – A murder trial underway for a man accused in the strangulation death of his mother’s caregiver.

Authorities say 37-year-old Juan Manuel Hernandez is responsible for murdering his mother’s caregiver, 61-year-old Alisa Maria Garza. Back in October 2017 Hernandez walked into the McAllen Police station to report he found Garza’s body wrapped up inside her car.

If convicted Hernandez could face up to life in prison.
