Mexico ready for deportees

RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas – As immigration and customs enforcement raids continue across the country, Mexico is getting ready to receive people being deported.

The Mexican government says it is bracing for as many as 1,800 Mexican deportees as a result of planned ICE immigration raids.

Mexico’s foreign minister says his country is ready to help any Mexican Nationals deported under the crackdown.

“We are expecting something around 1,800, but we are not sure of the figure that’s going to be this week. But we are ready to receive them and offer them jobs and support,” says Marcelo Ebrard, the Mexican Foreign Minister.

Mexican authorities say they have lawyers ready to help anyone impacted by immigration arrests. The plan is to have 300 attorneys hired by the Foreign Ministry, as well as an additional 100 consulting attorneys.
