Man arrested for aggravated robbery and failure to identify

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – A Brownsville man is behind bars after an incident left a 58-year-old woman lying in the middle of the road by her motorized wheelchair.

30-year-old Rafael Carrasco was arrested in connection to a November 6th robbery near the intersection of east 14th street and Jefferson. According to police Carrasco may have pushed a woman off her wheelchair and ran off with her purse. He was later found with the woman’s belonging but refused to co-operate with police with any identifiable information.

He was charged with aggravated robbery and failure to identify. The victim’s property was recovered and returned to the owner. Carrasco’s bond was set at $50,000.
