Wife allegedly shoots husband to death, to be arraigned on murder charges

EDINBURG, Texas – An altercation between a husband and wife is what Edinburg Police say led to the death of 46-year-old Hector De Leon. Authorities say during the couple’s discussion, Karla De Leon gained possession of a revolver, fatally shooting her husband.

The incident happened on Sunday at about 7:00 p.m. on the 700 block of East Russel Road.

Chief Cesar Torres, Edinburg Police Department, ”We want our community to reach out to the police department so that we can guide them to the right programs. There’s a lot of programs out there like Mujeres Unidas. Although the victim was a male, we still have programs out there that will help victims of domestic violence cases.”

47-year-old Karla De Leon is expected to be arraigned tomorrow, Dec. 10 on murder charges.
