WESLACO, Texas - On Monday, the Texas Department of Public Safety executed 10 arrest warrants for 38-year-old Luis Armendariz Jr. of Brownsville. The warrants were issued after he was released from Valley Regional Medical Center.
Armendariz was involved in the officer-involved shooting that took place on Wednesday, July 4 in Brownsville. The warrants are for Aggravated Robbery, Theft, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (six counts), Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon against a Public Servant, and Attempted Capital Murder.
Armendariz was transported and released to the Cameron County Jail.
