Veteran Statue Vandalized

Local News

“It is sad and upsetting,” that is what Josie Cammack, Vice President for Veteran’s Female United (VFU), says about vandalism to a Brownsville Veterans statue.

On December 31, 2017 Cammack visited the statue with her family only to realize the dedication portion had been sprayed over. This blocked out the words “Charlie Clark Nissan” from the statue’s base.
The 12-foot, 6-inch statue is one of the few symbols dedicated to female veterans in the valley. It was unveiled on June 25, 2016 at Brownsville’s Veterans Park.

The VFU filled a police report with local police in order to find those responsible of the vandalism. We reached out to the City of Brownsville. They say they are working to remove the paint.

Anyone with information on this incident is urged to contact Brownsville Police.
