Valley resident inducted into Fishing Hall of Fame

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas – South Padre Island resident Shane Wilson is named the a 2020 inductee for the Texas Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame.

Each year the Texas Parks and Wildlife Agency recognizes individuals and organizations that make contributions to Texas Freshwater fishing. The retired schoolteacher is responsible for expanding fishing in 28 active chapters and helped recruit volunteers for the state agency.

Wilson also runs “Fishing’s Future”, a non-profit dedicated to uniting families through fishing. He will be formally inducted into the hall of fame which runs from June 5th through June 9th in Quitman, Texas.
