Valley Metro Offering Free Rides for Six Months

Local News

Valley Metro will be offering its bus rides free for the next six months.

The transportation agency said they plan to use $70,000 from their marketing funds to pay for bus fares of its users.

The Valley Metro director said this decision is an effort to increase ridership. They estimate nearly 300,000 people rode Valley Metro busses from September 2016 to January 2017.

The fare-less initiative is from March 1 until August 1.
