Three arrested in Aggravated Robbery, kidnapping of a teen

HARLINGEN, Texas – At about 11:55 a.m. on February 17, uniformed Harlingen Police officers responded to the 100 block of E. Dominion Drive in Harlingen in reference to a subject with a gun. Upon arrival, officers made contact with several subjects. The investigation revealed that three subjects in a gold / tan colored vehicle had displayed a handgun in a threatening manner, kidnapped and robbed a juvenile male subject. The vehicle was located and stopped. As a result of the investigation, all three occupants of the vehicle (identified as Samuel Ariza, Jesus Antonio Tovar and Gabriela Portales) were placed under arrest for various charges. A weapon was recovered from the suspect vehicle. The victim sustained minor injuries during the incident. All three subjects were charged with Aggravated Robbery, Kidnapping, Theft of a firearm, Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity and Possession of Controlled Substance.
