Three adults and one juvenile arrested on assault charges

Harlingen police arrested three adults and one juvenile on assaults after they  assaulted an individual.

On Saturday, August 15th at around 12:47 a.m., police were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Monroe Street in reference to a disturbance.

When officers arrived they located a man sitting on the tailgate of a truck and bleeding from his head. The victim stated that three adults and one juvenile had assaulted him. The victim was taken to a local hospital for his injuries after suffering several fractures requiring him to have surgery.

During the course of the investigation, detectives identified and arrested Maritza Monico, 29, Ruben Acevedo Jr., 30, Andrew Anguiano, 21, and a juvenile.

All three adults were charged with aggravated assault with Monico receiving a bond totaling $17,000, Anguiano and Acevedo received bonds totaling $50,000 each. The juvenile was arrested and handed over to juvenile detention authorities.
