The Teddy Bear Clinic

Local News

If you’re a parent of small children, chances are you have struggled getting your child to the doctor.

There is good news. An activity at the Children’s Museum of Brownsville may be able to help.
Having the child take their teddy bear for a checkup and putting your little one in the caregiver role.

Felipe Peña, Children’s Museum of Brownsville Director said, “It’s a different kind of experience. It’s kind of putting them in the parent role and it’s a fun time for them to go through the museum and try different activities at all the different stations. We are asking them to bring one teddy bear that way they can take them through the activities and get them checked out.”

The Children’s Museum of Brownsville has held the teddy bear clinic for many years. Usually drawing in a crowd of 100 people. The event is on Saturday, September 9 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The goal is to make children more comfortable about going to the doctor.
