Local News

The biggest sportsman’s exposition in the Rio Grande Valley is set for July 21 – 23, 2017. With more than 30,000 people expected to attend, Richard Moore will be there to greet you at the Payne Auto Group booth.

If you are looking for a fun family outing this weekend, then the biggest hunting and fishing exposition south of San Antonio is the perfect place to go.

This year’s 27th annual Expo is being held at the new McAllen Civic Center Friday, July 21 thru Sunday July 23 and will feature over 275 exhibitors with something for everyone.

Chris Curl, co-owner of Expo, “Every year we have ladies exhibits, we have a few children’s exhibits.  We have to have something for everybody, so that way they are entertained while dad shops.”

The show features guides and outfitters from across the United States, Canada, Mexico and Africa booking hunts for trophy whitetail deer and other big game animals.

And if you are a dove quail, turkey or waterfowl hunter there will be plenty of opportunities to book trips.

Saltwater and freshwater anglers will also find a variety of expeditions to choose from and a fine selection of boats by Dargel and other manufactures.

Chris Curl, “Every year we can’t forget Joe Martin’s snake pit, the live rattlesnake pit.  We have people coming to the show looking just for him.”

The Exposition is geared for the entire family with something for everyone, and children under 12 get free admission.

Chris Curl, “This year we are bringing Frank Addington who will perform live archery shows.  He is also known as the aspirin buster.  Frank will actually perform a show where he shoots an aspirin, a baby aspirin out of the sky.”

Come by and visit Richard Moore at the Payne Auto Group booth and register to win outdoor documentaries and free Celebrate America t-shirts.
