Texas DPS Trooper in critical condition

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Texas DPS Trooper Moises Sanchez was re-admitted to surgery and remains in critical condition. The announcement was made this morning via Texas DPS South Texas Region Facebook. He was expected to undergo recovery from his final surgery yesterday afternoon.

Trooper Sanchez was shot in the head while responding to a routine traffic stop earlier this year. Right now, the suspect remains behind bars and is awaiting a pre-trial hearing on October 24th.

His family and fellow law enforcement agents calling for prayers and a successful recovery.
