SUV Fighting for Parking Space Slams Into Bakery

Local News

KXAS – Surveillance video captures the moment an SUV drove through the front plate glass window of a bakery in Texas.

Just before 10:30 Sunday morning, the large white s-u-v crashed into the front of a bakery in Garland, about 20 miles northeast of Dallas.

One person was taken to the hospital and nine others were treated at the scene.

The driver said he was attempting to park and pressed the gas instead of the brake petal.

The surveillance video shows the driver was competing with another car for the parking spot.

No charges have been filed in the incident and the man was able to drive his vehicle home.

Armando Gelista, bakery owner said, “Everybody that was here, it’s very lucky, you know, we thank God that nothing more severe happened than, you know, what actually did happen. There were people hurt, there was children here, but thank God that it wasn’t nothing that serious.”
