It’s beginning to look a lot like Spring Break.
Everywhere you go from the sidewalks to the beach. The students come out here. And that’s because Spring Break has started for many across the country. Though it’s not the biggest week, preparations are underway.
Brandon Rezich, “Just here to have some fun with my friends.”
Caetlin Laakkonen, “To try the food. New food.”
Joe Smith 1 and Joe Smith 2, “We’re looking for girls basically. I think the weather is beautiful on the other hand. I think it just about perfect. It’s a little overcast, but it’s the temperature that is what it’s all about.”
One of the biggest changes this year. Is the change of venue for the Ultimate Music Experience, a popular music festival that was held in Schlitterbahn for 10 years, will now take place in Clayton’s Beach Bar & Grill.
Clayton Brashear – Owner, “UME was looking for a new home to host their event and they decided to partner with Clayton’s.”
Clayton says their festival will take place in the parking lot. Regular concerts at the beach will continue as always. The plan is to have entertainment all week long.
Clayton Brashear, “The city put together a plan to make things safe and keep the beaches clean and stuff. We’re going to have offsite parking, the convention center, the birding center, the hotels in the surrounding areas. We’re asking people to come and when they stay in their hotel, walk or take a cab to the event.”
Even though Spring Break has started for some, the busiest week, Texas Week, is scheduled for March 11-19.
