Sole Search Shoe Drive, Local Businesses Team up for Underpriviledged Children

Local News

A local organization is on a mission to gather 4,000 pairs of shoes for children.

This white collection box is at different businesses throughout the valley.  For example, Bert Ogden in Mission.

The Sole Shoe Drive aims to give shoes to children throughout the Tri-County area.  The shoes will be distributed in August before school starts.  But first the organization needs help from the community.

“We are looking for vendors right now for the day of the event. We are expecting over 6,000 people.”

“We’re very grateful and privileged to give a part to underprivileged kids a new pair of shoes. Kids that maybe all they have is hand-me-downs.”

Last year The Sole Shoe Drive collected more than 2,000 pairs of shoes.  They dressed the feet of children from Star and Hidalgo Counties.
