Smugglers continue to flood Border Patrol with large groups of illegal crossers

EDINBURG, Texas – Late Thursday night, April 25, McAllen Border Patrol Agents responded to the report of a large group of illegal aliens near La Joya. Upon arrival, agents located a group of 224 illegal aliens mainly comprised of family units and unaccompanied children from Central America.

The following day, Starr County Sherriff’s Deputies and Roma PD Officers requested the assistance of Broder Patrol with a group of 145 illegal aliens in Roma, Texas. Border Patrol took custody of the group, comprised of family units and unaccompanied children from the countries of Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Ecuador.

Later that day, agents apprehended another group of 294 illegal aliens near Roma, Texas. Agents determined the illegal aliens are from the countries of Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Cuba.

On Sunday morning, April 28, agents working near Rio Grande City apprehended a group of 170 illegal aliens comprised of family units, unaccompanied children and single adults from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Cuba.
