The Small Business Administration Disaster Assistance team is now in the Rio Grande Valley to help those affected by the June floods.
The agency plans to offer loans to businesses, private, nonprofits, homeowners and renters. A spokesperson tells us that the SBA is offering up to $2 million to repair and replace flood damaged real-estate and machinery.
Corey Williams, Small Business Administration said, “As a federal agency we want to make sure we stand behind the business owners in the Weslaco community and in Hidalgo County. To be able to sustain themselves throughout this recovery period.”
Unlike most federal assistance, businesses have two deadlines. One for physical damage on September 4 and the other on April 8, 2019 for economic injury disaster.
