Shutdown Impact On Auto Industry

According to the Center for Automotive Research the entire U.S. Auto industry would shut down within a week if the border closed.

Experts say nearly every automaker in the U.S. depends on parts imported from Mexico. Some of those parts are critical like seat belt anchors and engine components.

If vehicle production comes to a halt that could put jobs at risk for the one million employees working at plants across the U.S.
