Sheriff’s Office Seeking Help in Identifying Body Found in River

The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in identifying a body that was discovered in the Rio Grande River on January 2.

The body was found near the rural area south of the city of Hidalgo. Investigators say the remains are of a male between 30 to 40 years of age. He was wearing plaid shorts, a red shirt and tennis shoes. He has a tattoo of a ribbon with three letters on it. It’s about five inches long and it’s on his right chest.
