BROWNSVILLE, Texas – The Port of Brownsville receives environmental clearance for a new road to help improve the flow traffic. Known as the South Port Connector road, the two-mile project plans to one day become a secondary entry to and from the port.

This is a project between Cameron County and the county’s Regional Mobility Authority (RMA). Once complete the new road will connect the Port of Brownsville to State Highway 4. In a statement the organization says the plan is to eventually offer direct access to the Veterans International Bridge.
