Second Truck Being Filled With Supplies For Hurricane Victims

Local News

With one truck filled and gone, another one is getting ready to head out and help hurricane victims.

KVEO News Center 23 in Brownsville is accepting donations for victims of Hurricane Harvey. KVEO partnered up with Habitat for Humanity to help small communities hit big with heavy rain and high winds.

We’re collecting water, toiletries, hygiene products, and even pet supplies. Anything and everything to help those that need it the most.

We’ll be here form 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day this week or until the truck is full. KVEO has had many volunteers. The RGV is ready to lend a hand. Some going as far as writing personal notes, in hopes of inspiring recipients. Others giving up their personal belongings so that other children could play with them.

It’s interesting to note that we are no longer accepting clothing. Our priority for this second trailer is food, water, diapers, and other essential items.

We are located at 394 North Expressway in Brownsville. We will be here from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day or until full.

If you can’t make it out here and would still like to contribute, visit Habitat for Humanity in McAllen and Harlingen.
