Teenagers from all over the valley stayed at Camp Thicket in Weslaco for the RGV Youth Preparedness Camp.
In which, real life professionals from different agencies helped the students experience several emergency simulations.
For five days, the teens left home to learn actions plans and leadership development skills.
The adolescents will graduate with a community emergency response team training certification.
They can use this certification to help the community in a natural disaster event.
