RGV youth free preparedness camp

Weslaco Fire Department and the Rio Grande Valley Medical Reserve Corps are still accepting applications to participate in this summer RGV Youth Preparedness Camp.

This is a five-free day stay in the Camp Thicket in Weslaco, Texas by the Estero Llano Grande State Park.

In which a 20-hour basic Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training will be completed.

Students will also learn multiple skills and different hands on training that could better prepare them for an unpleasant situation.

Any teen ranging from 14 to 18 years of age is encourage to participate from June 18- 22.  

Teens do not have to be residents of Weslaco, to participate.

Meals and showers will be provided for everyone.
