RGV Little League Baseball Teams Wins World Title

Local News

A Rio Grande Valley little league baseball team earned a new title. They’re now proud world series champions for the very first time. Joaquin Ayala of the ABC Force said, “From 3 years old to 9 years old I never won a World Series so it feels very good.”

A 10-9 win against the Louisiana Shockwaves gave these kids something to look forward to next season.

“We worked hard all year.” Said team member Noah Perez.

Coach Jesse Cansino said, “This year, it was just a phenomenal experience. It was surreal knowing that our kids accomplished this hurdle. And sometimes it’s unexplainable. So many feelings, so much hard work goes into the season.”

Despite the challenges that come with being part of a baseball team, the coach said their weekly practices and time away from home have finally paid off. “We’re trying to be a positive influence to our boys and let them know that hard work pays off, but there’s got to be a lot of discipline behind it as well.”

Already the boys are learning so much from their coaches. But they said even the student can have so much to teach the teacher.

“They show so much heart out there on the field. The hard work and dedication they show through our practices, our tournaments throughout the year. It paid off that day. They’re 8 years old, but they have so much strength and so much desire to win.” Said Coach Cansino.

Additional winners were the South Texas Banditos Broncos 7 and Prestige Jordan T-Ball for winning their respective divisions in Sulfur, Louisiana.
