‘Recycle Right!’ Program to Educate Citizens on Recycling

Local News

In its effort to get more residents to recycle, the city of McAllen is launching a new program that will help improve curbside recycling.

The new ‘Recycle Right!’ program aims to educate residents on which items can and cannot be recycled.

Starting next month, all 35,000 households in the city will have the recycle bins inspected. If residents get caught throwing trash into the recycle bin more than twice, they will get it replaced by a second trash bin and $10.50 monthly fee for that second black bin.
