President Trump Reacts To National Emergency Lawsuit

Local News

President Trump has reacted to the lawsuit filed by 16 states, including texas, challenging his national emergency declaration to get a border wall built.

The president told reporters he’s within his rights to declare the emergency as an issue of national security.

He homed in on Beto O’Rourke’s comment to MSNBC that he’d like to remove the wall between El Paso, Texas and Mexico.

The president claims that could end O’Rourke’s political career, as the former congressman ponders a presidential run.

“They know walls are necessary, maybe more than we do. But they’re playing a political game. And their new game is, ‘Let’s take down all walls.’ I saw where Beto wanted to take down walls. I said, they asked me, ‘What do you think’ I said, Well, I think that’s probably the end of his career.”

The president added he has an absolute right to declare a national emergency, because we need strong borders to stop drugs, criminals and human trafficking.
