Potential Craigslist buyer robs seller of cell phone at gun point

The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the aggravated robbery of a man selling a cell phone listed on Craigslist.

On Wednesday, August 5th, at around 4:20 p.m., Sheriff deputies were called to the parking lot of a cell phone business located on the 2900 block of Diamond Avenue in Mission about an aggravated robbery.

Deputies spoke to the victim, a 32 year-old man, who stated that he met a potential buyer for a cell phone he advertised on Craigslist. During the meeting the buyer pulled out and pointed a handgun at the victim, took the cell phone and told the victim to leave.

It was additionally reported that the suspect met up with a second man and both fled the area on foot.

The first suspect is described as wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans, while the second suspect is described as being bald, wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans.
