O’Rourke discusses immigration plan

Local News

RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas – Beto O’Rourke is proposing a major overhaul of the U.S. immigration policy, including a pathway to citizenship for young Dreamers.

The democratic presidential candidate’s newly announced plan would also end southern border wall construction, reverse policies leading to family separations, and end the so-called Muslim travel ban.

O’Rourke highlighted his ideas during an immigration discussion today in Dallas.

“No more putting kids in cages or separating families or pushing asylum seekers back into Mexico where they are prey for criminal organizations. We make sure we follow our own asylum laws. We reunite families.” Said O’Rourke.

O’Rourke says he’d also focus on stabilizing Central American countries producing much of the current migration to America.
