New Transplant Institute in the Rio Grande Valley

Local News

Doctors Hospital at Renaissance is working to help patients with kidney, liver, and pancreatic disorders.

The hospital opened a new transplant institute to assist patients with kidney donations and transplantations without having to leave the area. Other specialty services the institute focuses on are complications of organ systems. That includes liver diseases, bile ducts, and pancreas.

Dr. Jose Luis Almeda – Director of Transplant Institute said, “We’re very grateful to the hospital. It takes a big commitment. It’s a big sacrifice in order to provide this level of service for the patients in the valley. We do it so that patients, like you saw today don’t have to travel out of the valley.”

The new facility also offers post-operative services for liver or kidney transplants.
