U.S. Customs and Border Protection at the Anzalduas International Bridge intercepted $636,820 worth of cocaine from a woman as she attempted to enter the U.S. from Mexico.
The seizure occurred on August 11th. CBP officers encountered a 37-year-old woman from Reynosa. After referring the gold 2006 Chevy Malibu she was driving for further inspection, CBP officers used available tools and assistance of a K-9 team which led to the discovery of 32 packages of cocaine weighing about 82.59 pounds hidden within the car.
Authorities seized the narcotics and the vehicle. The woman was arrested. She was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations.
