BROWNSVILLE, Texas — Known as National Senior Health and Fitness Day, Valley Regional Medical Center and the city of Brownsville team up to promote healthcare in the senior community. From education, health screenings, and exercise activities, the event aims to promote healthy lifestyle choices.
Mariana Tumlinson, Public Relations – Valley Regional Medical Center, “It’s important that seniors that have already done their time in the workforce, that have raised us, that have taken care of us, that have loved us, have opportunities in the community to figure out how to be healthy, that they have opportunities to exercise.“
The local gathering is part of an estimated 1,000 groups celebrating the 26th annual event. Brownsville residents have participated in the national event for the past 6 years.
