U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Los Indios International Bridge intercepted a load of alleged heroin and methamphetamine. CBP officers discovered the alleged narcotics, valued at approximately $319,436, hidden within a blue 1999 Ford F150 pick-up.
The seizure took place on Monday, Sept. 26, at Los Indios International Bridge when a 33-year-old male Guatemalan citizen who resides in Los Angeles, California, applied for entry into the United States. The driver was referred to CBP secondary for further examination after a primary inspection. In secondary, CBP officers discovered one package which contained a total of 13.67 pounds of alleged heroin and four packages which contained a total of .47 pounds of alleged methamphetamine hidden within the vehicle.
The estimated street value of the heroin and methamphetamine from the seizure is $310,000 and $9,436 respectively.
CBP officers seized the narcotics along with the vehicle, arrested the driver and turned him over to the custody of Homeland Security Investigations special agents for further investigation.
