Motive unclear in husband-wife deadly shooting investigation

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – A motive has yet to be released into a shooting investigation from Saturday morning. According to Brownsville Police spokesperson Melissa Gonzalez, at approximately 5:00 a.m. on January 18, 2020, the Brownsville Police Department responded to a call for service at a residence on the 400 block of Parral St. in reference to a shooting. 

At the home, which doubles a business address for Garza Brothers Paving, Officers found two unresponsive persons with gunshot wounds to their bodies.  They were later pronounced deceased.  The deceased were identified as husband and wife, Adolfo Garza (57) and Amelia Garza (42). 

Neighbors told LOCAL 23 News, the couple was quiet and kept to themselves.

Autopsies were ordered for the Garzas and their manner of death remains under investigation. 

At this time, this case remains an ongoing death investigation.
