Missing Palm Valley Mother Abandons New Car, Purchases Another in North Texas

Lubbock Police are searching for a Palm Valley mother. 66-year-old Alice Johnson Myers was reported missing to Palm Valley Police Saturday. According to Sgt Cody Hunt, Myers purchased a vehicle Saturday at Boggus Ford in Harlingen and traveled to Lubbock.

Myers was last seen in the city more than 630 miles away from the quiet town of just over 1,300 residents.

In Lubbock, Myers abandoned her newly purchased 2015 Chevy Cruze at a United Supermarkets parking lot after purchasing a 2016 Jeep Patriot from Hayes Motor Co.

“The car salesman that sold it [Jeep Patriot] to her is on the surveillance video scene dropping the vehicle off at that store call our Police Department and told the police what had actually happened that she had purchased a new vehicle and just chose to abandon that vehicle.”

The salesman told Palm Valley Police, Myers was alone when she purchased the Jeep Patriot, “they did have to run her credit to buy a new vehicle and  they also confirmed that she was by herself when she purchased the vehicle and she only had her own bags. So, we don’t suspect any foul play or  there’s somebody that’s coercing her or forcing her to do any of this stuff.” said Sgt Hunt.

Myers is diagnosed with a bipolar disorder is 5 feet 2 inches tall with brown hair and green eyes.

The Jeep Patriot may have temporary tag: 24L9954.
