McAllen ranks high in safety for Trick or treating

MCALLEN, Texas – McAllen is ranked one of the best cities in the U.S. for Trick or Treating. According to they looked at the crime statistics, weather, and age of residents to determine the best places for Halloween. They compared more than 256 cities with McAllen ranking at No. 17.

It may be one of the safest cities for Trick or Treating, but McAllen Police wants to remind parents and residents to follow these safety tips.

Lt. Joel Morales, McAllen Police Department, “Rule number one. Very, very important. Parent’s should accompany their child as they go trick or treating. They can also carry a flashlight in their hand or something that is attached to the costume that lights up.”

McAllen Police also asks motorist to slow down and be aware of children walking around neighborhoods. If there is any suspicious activity, parents are urged to report it to the McAllen Police Department or call 9-1-1 immediately.
