The McAllen Memorial football and volleyball teams have raised $1,500 for a fellow student who is bravely battling cancer. The funds and a gift basket were presented to Briana Fernandez (pictured sixth from left, in jeans) before the Lady Mustangs’ volleyball match on Sept. 27. During September, the football and volleyball teams helped raise awareness for childhood cancer by wearing gold wrist bands to honor children with cancer.
