McAllen High School Student, Victim in Triple Murder Case

McAllen ISD is offering counseling services for students who were affected by the homicide that left one student dead over the weekend.

Officers responded to a disturbance call on the 900 block of north 3rd Street.

Police say 42-year-old Berenice Garcia was arguing with her husband, 30-year-old Cruz Pinon.

The argument then escalated to a shooting when Garcia’s daughter refused to give Pinon her phone.

According to police Pinon shot and killed Garcia and one of her daughters. 16-year-old Ashley Garcia.

The district later confirmed Ashley was a student at McAllen High School.
