Man’s bond over $225K after pointing and shooting BB gun at officers

A Harlingen man is arrested on assault charges and firing a BB gun at officers.

On Saturday, September 5th, at around 6:30 a.m., police were called to the 100 block of W. Taylor Avenue in reference to a person with a gun.

When officers arrived, they made entry into a residence, where a man pointed and fired a BB gun at the officers.

A brief chase and struggle ensued but the man was taken into custody and identified as Felix Adrian Mendoza, 24. Once in custody, officers were able to interview a woman who stated that she had been assaulted by Mendoza.

Mendoza was charged with assault family violence, resisting arrest and three counts of aggravated assault against a public servant with a weapon. He was handed a bond totaling $235,000 dollars.
